Description
We believe it is long overdue that the colonial roots of history education and its connection to modern-day racism are properly addressed in the classroom, which is the focus of the webinar series “Decolonising History”. In addition, we believe that the effect of the colonial past on everyday racism goes far beyond how the colonial past is tackled in the classroom, encompassing every aspect of education from access to schooling to teacher training to non-formal education. The panel discussion will explore what decolonisation entails outside of the classroom, in particular in relation to curriculum design, teacher education, and museum curation.
