‘‘Decolonising the Curriculum for teaching and learning about race equality’’
Race Equality Charter Mark Steering Group, Centre for Learning and Teaching, University of Brighton, University of Brighton Press, Vol. 1, No. 1, June 2019.

A growing student-led movement is calling for the curriculum to be decolonised. They argue that the curriculum should not only reflect a more diverse array of voices, and not predominantly white, male authors. It should also situate ‘canonical’ white male authors within the wider contexts of race (in)equality and colonialism.

For 2019, a bi-annual University of Brighton Press Publication of peer-reviewed articles (June/December) is to be edited and produced by members of the Teaching and Learning sub-group; part of the University’s Race Equality Charter Mark Steering Group; in collaboration with colleagues from the Centre for Learning and Teaching. The aim of publication is to share best practice and opportunities across the university in advancing teaching and learning about race equality
