Description
Negotiating a Changed World: New Research at London Met: 20 – 21 July 2021The second University-wide research conference builds on the success of last year’s conference. It is part of a number of initiatives to connect our entire research community. The event will provide a platform for students and staff to come together and showcase their research with the aim of fostering future collaborative and interdisciplinary partnerships.
Papers from all six London Met Schools will be presented, several with reference to recent events such as the Covid-19 pandemic but also longer-term challenges and changes in the world.
Organised by the Postgraduate Research Student-Staff Liaison Forum, the conference will take place over two days and be held online. Prof. Don MacRaild, Pro Vice-Chancellor for Research and Knowledge Exchange will open the first day, followed by keynote lectures by Dr Marlon Moncrieffe (University of Brighton) on Trending - Decolonising the Curriculum: What next for this educational concept? (20 July) and Dr Hannah Gibson (University of Essex) on Language-in-education in Botswana, Tanzania and Zambia: Harnessing learners’ multilingual repertoires (21 July).
