Although the UK has been celebrating Black History Month since 1987, the teaching of the history of BAME communities has not been a significant part of the national primary and secondary curriculum. Why is it important to decolonise the curriculum and how will schools address this across all subjects taught? Join us as we discuss these issues in light of the Islamic teachings on racial equality, peace and harmony. Ramadan: Overcoming materialism The essence of Ramadan is to grow closer to Allah Almighty by focusing on worship - our true purpose. However, with some commercialising Ramadan and others treating the holy month as a social activity, join us live as we discuss how Muslims can retain the true focus of Ramadan.
