Personal profile

Research interests

My primary research interest focuses on emerging collaborative digital innovation communities. I explore digital innovation ecosystems, community governance, digital platform strategy, and emergent ICT-based business models. A key part of my work involves developing and applying novel data science techniques to study online innovation networks.

I have contributed to and co-authored research reports for several large European projects, including CRE8TV, SPARK, and INSPIRE. In the CRE8TV project, I identified barriers to value appropriation in digital marketplaces. For the SPARK project, I examined how to support social enterprises in their innovation activities. As part of the INSPIRE project, I co-developed business innovation tools designed to foster open innovation in European SMEs.

Approach to teaching

My teaching philosophy is deeply inspired by action learning, particularly in the context of entrepreneurship. I believe that the best way to develop entrepreneurial skills is through hands-on experience, real-world problem-solving, and continuous reflection. By engaging students in experiential learning, I encourage them to take initiative, collaborate, and adapt to uncertainty—key traits of successful entrepreneurs.

I also incorporate project-based learning into my teaching, providing students with opportunities to tackle complex challenges and apply theoretical concepts in practical settings. Currently, I lead the Managing Digital Transformation and Strategy modules, where I emphasise a dynamic, interactive approach that fosters critical thinking, experimentation, and adaptability in an ever-evolving digital landscape.
