Personal profile

Research interests

Since completing my Master of Science primary research study: ‘Shifting Identities: Exploring occupational identity for those in recovery from an eating disorder’, my interest in furthering my research discoveries was piqued. This coupled with my passion for research to expand knowledge and the lack of research completed by occupational therapists within the remit of eating disorders, my desire to continue my research was confirmed. I am currently researching the meaning of food-related activities for those with eating disorders.

I am passionate about improving understanding of eating disorders and practice. I am interested in recovery-orientated practice in eating disorder treatment and discovering creative and novel ways which empower and support individuals beyond prevalent bio-medical models.

I am also interested in the 'dark side of occupation' in relation to eating disorders.
