Personal profile

Scholarly biography

I graduated from the University of Brighton in 2014 and went on to complete my pre-registration training year at Conquest Hospital, East Sussex Healthcare Trust. Once passing my GPhC registration assessment in 2015 I moved to London and completed a Rotational Pharmacist post at University College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust whilst undertaking my post-graduate diploma in general pharmacy practice at the University College London. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in gastroenterology and specifically the liver patients - therefore when the opportunity arose to join the team at King's I had to apply.

Since 2017 I have been working at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust as a Senior and subsequently Specialist Pharmacist in Hepatology. I have been able to influence prescribing habits and enhance pharmacist led services through MDT ward rounds, surgical pre-assessments, and outpatient clinics within a large tertiary liver centre. I completed my independent prescribing qualification in 2020 with an initial scope of practice focusing on immunosuppression post-liver transplant with a fluid transition into the treatment of viral hepatitis (namely hepatitis B and C).

Despite my vast experience in many areas of hospital pharmacy, my roots are community pharmacy. I frequently take on weekend shifts to keep up my responding to symptoms skills and any other relevant updates whilst enhancing the tie to the local community.

As of September 2021, I began my full-time role as a Senior Lecturer in Medicines Use at the University of Brighton to use my skills as a clinician to influence the future generation of pharmacists.
