Abstract

The Queering of Photography is a London based project exploring the complex relationship between queer identity and photographic representation. This exhibition was installed at Copeland Gallery for the contemporary photography festival Peckham 24, 10-12 September 2021. Rooted in studio portraiture, this body of work simultaneously examines the measuring of identity and the parameters of a photograph. The pose and gaze of the sitter and the materiality of the photograph are put into question through a formal yet playful aesthetic
