Abstract
Measures of Bodies was a three month exhibition, installation (60 Jars) and site specific performance in Le Musee De La Medecine in Brussels. The learning disabled Rockets Artists directed by Alice Fox were commissioned by the European Academy of Childhood Disability to form part of their 22nd International Annual Multidisciplinary Scientific Conference. The works were made in response to the ideas and artefacts in the medical museum and commented on the deficit model of disability. Identity, heart as pump and emotional centre and our unique bodies were recurrent themes. The 25min inclusive performance in the Grand Salle featured dancers with and without learning disabilities.
