Abstract
In a family archive, faded, blurry, overexposed photographs are likely to be found next to others of a higher aesthetic quality. If a ‘formal portrait is made, to permit us to look at the family, not into it, then what is being hidden? And from whom? Based on the method Fotobiografía developed by Fina Sanz, this visual exploration aims to give account of absences and hidden meanings located in a singular family archive regarding to a concrete disturbing experience, namely the dissimulation of drug abuse made by several members of my family.
