Abstract
This audio collage combines music recorded ‘live’ from the original AUDIO ACCOMPANIMENT installation, De La War Pavilion, 2011 with a voice-over that describes the cosmic ray activity used to trigger the sounds which emanate from a Yamaha Disclavier MIDI-controlled piano during the installation.
The broadcast version, disseminated through local radio and the internet, forms a central part of Hooker`s research activity into the use of radioactive cosmic rays as a way of using these invisible particles to interact with and alter audio-visual installations – making the invisible ‘visible’.
