Robert Ashby

Research Student, PhD in Cultural Evolution

Personal profile

Research interests

My PhD research project is in cognitive archaeology.  I am interested in the evolution of human culture and particularly the evolution of religion, because of a long involvement in the UK humanist movement.  So I am investigating the cognitive abilities of hominins in the Pleistocene period, particularly the relationship between material culture and the hominin cognition, communication and culture system, in the lower Palaeolithic.
