Scholarly biography
Marc Keech is Principal Lecturer at the School of Sport and Health Sciences specialising in Sport Policy and Sport Management and is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA).
Marc was awarded a PhD which examined the contribution of sport to end of apartheid in South Africa (Staffordshire University), a BA (Hons) in Sport and Recreation Studies (Staffordshire University) and a PGCE (Further and Higher Education - Manchester Metropolitan University).
Alongside academic publications, Marc has acted as a consultant and researcher for a range of organisations. Marc developed the placement programme for the BSc (Hons) Sport Management which received national recognition for its development of skills and knowledge for people working in sport. Previously a member of the national Higher Education (HE) working group of CIMPSA, (the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity) and the CIMSPA Professional Development Board (2018-2020) Marc is currently a member of the CIMSPA Professional Development Committee for Community Sport (2021-present day) and a member of the CIMSPA national Sport and Physical Activity Workforce Observatory Advisory Board (https://www.cimspa.co.uk/about-cimspa/cimspa-governance/board-committee-panels/cimspa-spawo-board/).
