Kate is a Senior Lecturer in Law and module leader of LLB Contract Law and LLB Professional Legal Practice 2. She is also a qualified solicitor (non-practising). Kate completed her undergraduate LLB (Hons) Law degree in 2014, at Lancaster University. Following this, Kate completed her PhD at Lancaster University in contract law and legal history, passing without corrections in 2018. She completed the PGCAP at the University of Brighton in 2023 and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Prior to joining the University of Brighton in 2022, Kate worked as a solictor at a London law firm, practising in the area of Commercial Dispute Resolution.
Kate's supervisory interests are, broadly, contract law and issues pertaining to legal practice. She would be particularly interested in supervising theses exploring the historical development of contract law or legal history generally as well as contemporary issues of legal practice and education.
Kate pursues research in the area of contract law and legal pedagogy. Her current research explores the use of alternative methods, such as games, to teach law.
