Personal profile

Scholarly biography

I am a highly experienced higher education lecturer, specialising in academic literacies and English for Academic Purposes.

Working with both undergraduate and postgraduate students, I contribute to retention, inclusivity and transition strategies by embedding academic skills in modules across the university. I develop and deliver critical communication sessions on various aspects of academic writing and speaking, supporting students in gaining autonomy and self-efficacy through reflective practice. I teach within disciplinary contexts, mainly to students across the School of Sport and Health Sciences. Sessions can take the form of lecturers, seminars, workshops, writing groups and one-to-one tutorials.
