Abstract
As a first deviation away from guitars this little Ukelele was an experiment in various approaches to lamination. Using a combination of Walnut, Mahogany & Beech (all reclaimed materials and from waste sources) the neck, headstock & top are all formed using small peices of timber which would otherwise have been too small for a full sized guitar.
Because of the perpendicular/hybrid grain direction of the multi-peice top an alternative bracing format was required which is a W shape to address the string tension vs joints.
