Abstract

'Urban Ghosts' (Fantasmas Urbanos) - 24min film by Phil Taylor based on his research and experience of living in Tucson, Arizona in 2011. The film extrapolates themes explored in a body of original research based on the 'Blood Meridian' novel by Cormac McCarthy (1985) culminating in a book and exhibition (2012). Each chapter from the book informs the stylistic structure and pace of the film, there is some text and some chapter headings, but the main focus of the film is to create an atmosphere through the combination of sound and still and moving image that is a composite of the chapter themes. All of the content is original (sound, still and moving image) Original soundtrack by Phil Taylor ©2013
