Abstract

Events play a key role in the strategic positioning and profitability of hospitality organisations and this chapter examines events from the hospitality management perspective. It provides an overview of the organisational logistics, market trends and key stakeholders of events, within the hospitality industry. This chapter· enables the reader to understand the nature of events within the hospitality industry context. It explores key markets in hospitality and events management and analyses the range of different types of events within the hospitality. It also overviews recent trends and changes in events in hospitality.
