N2 - In supply chain operations management, blockchain has tremendous deployment potential as it can enable dynamic connections between network stakeholders as well as mitigating threats to food safety and fraud by enabling goods to be traced across the supply chain in a way that is transparent by preserving supply chain data and making them impossible to alter. Our study establishes a theoretical framework for examining the adoption of blockchain in the Mexican food processing industry. Company managers’ attitudes are investigated by means of an online survey to understand their perceptions of the effects of blockchain technology on the relationship between actors in Mexican food industry supply chains; how they perceive the impact of blockchain technology on fraud and risks to food quality in the supply chain and to identify barriers to adopting blockchain
