Abstract

The bicycle force pedals project involves the generation of a case study which brings together partners from engineering and biomechanics as well as coaches and athletes to produce a set of customised force pedals. The aim of the paper is to showcase the truly collaborative nature of a Sports Engineering project for the purpose of promoting Sports Engineering and an exciting application of a wide range of engineering principles. The project team are creating links with other relevant stakeholders (such as other professional bodies and software companies) and providing educational and research resources for the Sports Engineering community and those studying STEM subjects.
