Abstract

This toolkit is the second of nine projects which will be published as part of Advance HE’s 2023-24 round of Collaborative Development Fund grants. It has brought together seven institutions in the UK and Australia, led by the University of Cambridge to produce a guide to developing teaching and learning communities of practice.

In addition to this toolkit the team have also formed their own international community of practice for colleagues leading and/or interested in conversations around communities of practice work in the development of higher education.

The Educational Development Community of Practice – EdD CoP – meets virtually circa four times a year and is designed to give all supporters of higher education community of practice work a chance to meet one another and share ideas. EdD CoP provides us all with an opportunity to learn and grow together and shape practice through and beyond the resources available in this toolkit. If this sounds like a community for you – please sign up to the JISCMail mailing list here.

Alongside the toolkit are a series of multimedia case studies, which show examples of how a community of practice can be set up and sustained.
