N2 - The recent technological advancements and innovations in sensor development, Internet of Things (IoT) and Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) have been instrumental for the inclusive growth of industry 4.0, development of national digital quality infrastructure and the economic growth of the country. The digital transformation in metrology, quantum-based measurement technologies and measurement information infrastructure shall be pivotal for Industry 4.0, Smart Cities, Digital India, and AtmaNirbhar Bharat missions of the government of India. The present paper reports the paradigms of metrology cloud in Indian perspectives for the establishment of national digital quality infrastructure thus strengthening the three main pillars: metrology accreditation and standardization. The study describes the SWOT analysis carried out on the digital transformation in metrology for the development and the establishment of a metrology cloud and national digital quality infrastructure in India in the next few years.
