N2 - This study examines the experiences of Syrian refugees resettling in Scotland through the lens of rhythm analysis, an underutilized yet insightful theoretical framework. By focusing on the coexistence and interplay of multiple, disrupted rhythms during the resettlement process, the study offers fresh perspectives on migration, integration, and adaptation. Drawing on Lefebvre’s concept of polyrhythmia and supported by empirical data collected through participatory visual and audio methods, the research explores refugees' attempts to restore ontological security amidst fractured "rhythms of everyday life." This rhythm-analytic approach deepens existing theoretical understandings in migration studies by highlighting how refugees reconfigure social, cultural, and symbolic capital while negotiating belonging and displacement. The findings reveal nuanced processes of rhythm creation and recreation, leading to new sociocultural configurations. This framework provides valuable insights for policymakers and practitioners aiming to promote meaningful refugee integration.
