Abstract
Conceived as an emotional catalog of booths, »Typology of Intimacy« proposes the booth as the embodiment of intimacy through the voices of an eclectic group of people. Through a series of in-depth interviews and contributions from artists, architects, researchers and writers, it formulates the core of an ongoing artistic and architectural research on the entanglement of space and emotion. With interviews with Guillaume Bijl, Monsieur B., Tag Christof, Marcella Hackbardt, Michael Kenna, Ingo Niermann, Annebella Pollen, Vasco Santos and Roberto Zancan. The chapter by Annebella Pollen examines the photo booth as a form in response to interview questions by architect Francisco Moura Veiga for the research project ‘Typologies of Intimacy’, originally displayed at Visarte Entrée Exhibition 2020, Basel, Switzerland, and developed into book form for M Books architectural publisher, Weimar, Germany, in 2022.
