Abstract
Retaining nurses in the UK National Health Service (NHS) is a serious practical problem. In our four-year study of the Early Career Learning of Nurses, Engineers and Accountants (The LiNEA Project) during their first post, a key aim was to assist employers to develop their training and support for new recruits so as to contribute to retention. This paper discusses the impact and take – up of the research findings by the hospitals’ management.
