Abstract
One of the most important photographers of the 80s is exhibiting in Târgu Mureș, in the K'ARTE Room, a special selection of unpublished images from Târgu Mures and Mureș County, together with famous shots already from his native Bucharest.
The painful reality of the 1980s, of public transport, of queues at grocery stores, of the systematic demolition of architectural monuments, of the general vulnerability of the population, is ingeniously captured in his photographs, which have become increasingly famous over the last 15 years. The Romania of the last decade of communism is revealed to us in an uncompromising way, despite the draconian control of the state during that period over all forms of representation.
Exhibition curated by Dr Uschi Klein
