Abstract

This is DEATH OF CHATTERTON. We don’t know why it’s called that. This is our third experiment, In Search of Patrick Brock. We’re interested in memory, marginalia and queer doublings, which exploit the textures of simultaneous vocal activity.

This experiment concerns Irish actors Patrick Brock and Cecil Brock, and those they have known. Patrick and Cecil died in April 1999, leaving behind startling textual presences, impressions, which, twenty years later, we are embarking on a project to trace.

For the next 25 minutes we will present our encounters with the Brocks so far.
