Abstract
Fragmented vignettes weave and divide in a film that plays with Hollywood’s portrayal of cancer. In the ‘movies’ it is nearly always the young, talented and beautiful who die from this disease even though cancer is most often the product of aging as cells divide over and over.
The collaborative project was awarded a Sciart Research Award from the Wellcome Trust in 2004 that funded the production of the film. The work was screened at various international short film festivals and was awarded Mention Spéciale du Jury, for Immortal Stories. Festival Nouveau du Cinéma Montreál, 2006.
