Abstract

Drawing inspiration from Edward James’s visionary and surreal approach to domestic space, House of Dreams will invite a select group of artists to examine the house as both a physical structure and a realm of imagination. In the spirit of James’s own collection, which reimagined interiors as symbolic, theatrical spaces, this exhibition will engage with the collision of past and present, where the familiar becomes unfamiliar, and representation itself is called into question. Through painting, sculpture, and ceramics, the featured artists will delve into ideas of beauty, impermanence, reinvention, symbology, and the uncanny.
