Abstract
These six artists bring their own histories, practices, and perspectives to question memory, movement, positionality, resistance, and identity. Their stories are carried through diverse media: print, moving image, fabric, light, performance, photography, and family heirlooms. Inspired by the exceptionality of everyday life and the domestic, these works hold the remarkable ability to transform ordinary objects and fleeting moments into intimate sites of reflection, renewal, and connection.
While deeply personal, the works are also porous, opening themselves to the viewer and inviting us to look beyond surface impressions toward the lives, questions, and voices that shape them. In dialogue with one another, these practices form a living conversation. At its core, Hexted is a celebration of skilful creators, extraordinary storytellers, and visionary dreamers who navigate both the weight of inherited histories and the freedom of creative invention.
Here, the connections extend beyond the gallery walls, sparked by the juxtaposition of diverse artistic experiences, encouraging viewers to reconsider their own perspectives, reflect on their own experiences, and engage in a broader dialogue. Hexted is an exhibition that understands difference not as a barrier, but as an opportunity for reflection and resonance.
