Abstract
Family and families are key sites of social relations and their understanding is crucial in understanding our world. Mobilities research has much to offer in producing knowledge on family forms and family lives, but methodologies and methods must be based on a critical reading of family that challenges normative assumptions of how families should be. This chapter highlights a range of mobilities research as applied to family and suggests methodologies and methods appropriate to it critical understanding.
