Abstract
This is a catalogue of a curated exhibition for which I contributed with several photographic works.
In Spain. Photography, commissions, territories, 1983-2009 brings together eleven photographic projects or surveys focused on the registration of the landscape and the territory of our country. The common link of all of them, apart from their object of interest, is that of being again, as was the case in Framed Landscapes, commissions, both public and private. In some cases they had not been shown to the public since their realization with which, in this way, as we did in previous exhibitions of the ICO Museum, we contribute again to the dissemination of a rich heritage whose knowledge does not correspond at all with its relevance.
The curators of In Spain. Photography, commissions, territories, 1983-2009, Ramón Esparza, Jorge Ribalta and Cristina Zelich, involved in different ways in the realization of several of the surveys that make it up, have carried out a deep and pioneering research on this subject that serves to verify that photographic commissions or surveys have had a much more important role in the public perception of photography and its patrimonial role than one might imagine.
