Abstract
This BBC online image gallery, with selections, narration and captions by Annebella Pollen, accompanied the BBC Radio 3 episode of Free Thinking, broadcast on 14 February 2017, on the theme of Rude Valentines. Annebella Pollen was interviewed by presenter Rana Mitter on the subject of her research into insulting card giving practices, and their reception, in the nineteenth century. The webpage shows supporting examples of cards from the collections of Royal Pavilion and Museums, Brighton and Hove.
