Abstract
Digem was one of six action research projects funded by the EC under KA3 strand of the lifelong learning programme. It ran from Nov 2009 to April 2012 and included eight organisations from seven EC countries. The programme explored the use of digital storytelling as a means to (a) train marginalised groups with poor ICT skills in the use of basic digital technology such as word processing and image manipulation (b) enable such groups to acquire soft skills to make them more employable and (c) facilitate the social and cultural inclusion of such people through storytelling activities. The marginalised groups included unemployed, immigrant communities, young people, womens groups and the elderly. Outputs included 79 digital stories, practitioner guides and an evaluation report.
