Developing AI-resilient Assessments

Research output: Contribution to conferencePaperpeer-review

Abstract

The education landscape is changing with increased adoption of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) tools. With the initial release of ChatGPT in November 2022, the initial focus of GenAI education research was on evaluating its ability to complete assessments. Today, as GenAI models become more effective in carrying out tasks, recent research direction has included GenAI literacy, embedding GenAI in assessment & learning, AI as personal tutor and AI resistant assessment.

Generative Artificial Intelligence tools in education has challenged traditional assessment practices, raising concerns about academic integrity, assessment validity, and the accurate measurement of student learning. This session explores the concept of GenAI resilient assessments, we will explore the design, implementation, and evaluation of AI-resilient assessment frameworks for higher education.
