Abstract

This research and research development programme informed book focuses on the design, conceptual work, actioning and achieving of the PhD, EdD, and masters. It builds on and is informed by a wide, topical range of international research publications in the field of research learning and supervisory practice, and the author’s conference delivery, published papers and research programme contributions in S Africa, Australasia, UK, Ireland, Europe 1998-2007 .This second edition uses threshold concept theory (Meyer, Land, Cousin 2006)and conceptual thresholds (Wisker, Trafford et al 2007) to contribute new knowledge about diversity of postgraduate learning and effective support for those learners.
