Abstract
Be my (body) guest is a digitally enhanced circus piece by Carolyn Watt as part of her PhD research, produced by the XR Circus project. This performance considers contrasting audience perspectives of the female aerialist, exploring the notion of the gaze through the use of 360 technology, point of view video and projection. This piece offers juxtaposing views of the female aerialist. The audience are invited to experience Be my (body) guest in a number of ways, choosing to watch the aerialist or be the aerialist by: participating in the 360 immersive headset experience available throughout the duration of the evening, watching the live performance choosing to focus on the aerialist or on the live projection and watching the live performance from the point of view of the aerialist via YouTube on a smart phone.
