Abstract
This research rethinks access to blue spaces beyond the shoreline. Based on fieldwork with people with visual impairments, it challenges assumptions that access is simple, individual, or visually led. Instead, it reveals access as a complex journey shaped by transport, infrastructure, sensory experience, and interdependence. From street to sand to sea, who can participate is never guaranteed. This cake represents access as something made along the way, calling for more inclusive, relational approaches to coastal environments
