Who speaks for Roma? Political representation of a transnational minority community

Who Speaks for Roma? examines at the political participation and representation of the Romani community, one of the most disadvantaged and excluded minority groups in Europe. After explaining the relationship between representation and political participation within the context of ethnic mobilization, the book then evaluates representation structures in Hungary, Romania and the transnational political context. The book argues that Roma fall through the cracks of conventional political theories and presents a multi-disciplinary approach that draws from the literature on minority rights, citizenship, international relations, and social movements.
