Project Details
Description
Surrey County Council (SCC) is working in collaboration with local health commissioners, Domestic Abuse Outreach providers and NHS A&E Trusts to roll out a pilot programme of hospital-based Independent Domestic Abuse Advisors (IDVAs). The pilot aims to help Surrey’s Accident and Emergency (A&E) settings and other departments within Surrey hospitals to better respond to Domestic Abuse (DA) through the inclusion of specialist IDVA staff who work to support health staff and patients experiencing DA.
This evaluation provides qualitative and quantitative expertise to lead the appraisal of the impact of hospital-based IDVAs in Surrey. The evaluation aims are to a) demonstrate the outcomes achieved through the availability of IDVA staff in hospitals, for patients and for staff, b) demonstrate its financial effectiveness (value for money) and c) help inform sustainability planning.
