Mental health therapy provision, Research & Outcomes via Virtual Enviroments

Project Details

Description

Delivering psychological therapy through virtual reality (VR) technology has the potential to help meet the needs of scalability and personalisation in treating mental ill-health. In this project, we are developing the 'IMPROVE platform' to comprise: >A prototype for a low-cost mobile sensor-enabled VR headset to measure emotional responses in VR >A secure software platform for deploying virtual reality environments and associated back-end visualisation dashboard >Software development kits to enable the use of a range of sensors with existing VR mental health apps to enable personalisation of therapy. >A collaborative environment for health professionals, service users and software developers to (i) create, (ii) deliver and (iii) evaluate VR therapies.
