Description

The Lankelma Knowledge Transfer Partnership project with the University of Brighton involves the design of a high-resolution, multiple channel data acquisition system for cone penetration testing of soil properties as part of site geological surveying.

A conical device is forced downwards through the ground to depths of up to 100 metres. The cone has many sensors and its built-in data acquision system collects all the sensor data at high levels of accuracy, processes the data to maximise its geological usefulness, packages it, and sends it up though the cable to a collection device on the surface. The surface data is then further processed to create useful data for Lankelma's clients.
