Project Details
Description
In the South East of the UK, there are persistent challenges with sediment, turbidity, and algal growth across multiple catchments. These issues are being exacerbated by climate change, which is driving more intense rainfall and accelerating erosion, resulting in increased sediment and nutrient pulses. Regulatory frameworks such as the Water Industry National Environment Programme (WINEP) demand evidence-based interventions at the catchment scale.
To meet these requirements, this project employs integrated modelling to enable SEW to prioritise resources where they deliver the greatest benefit to raw-water quality.
