Description
This study aimed to assess the current methodology used to compare water and sewerage company performance in respect to total pollution incidents (category 1-3) as recorded in the National Incident Recording System.
The focus of the work was to determine how fair and meaningful the currently employed metric is and to set out the potential relative benefits of alternatives. Recommendations for future total pollution incident performance assessment were given to the Environment Agency, based on the results of the study.
