Description
The European Space Agency has been mandated to perform a programme element entitled, ‘Microgravity Applications Promotion Programme for the International Space Station (MAP)’ – this is essentially a programme for the exploitation of the ISS for applied research and as a test-bed for the development of Earth-bound technology and processes.
As part of this, the principal objectives of the ENCOM project are to get a better understanding of the condensation heat transfer phenomena and to study the possibilities of heat transfer enhancement in microgravity in view of technological applications to space thermal control systems.
