Bioartificial interventions for organ senescence: Understanding and preventing senescence induced by liver toxins (SILT) in hepatocytes

Project Details

Description

Researchers have discovered that endogenous hepatotoxins cause hepatocytes to enter cell senescence which prevents their proper function but that this can be prevented with novel resveralogues.

This project will characterise the mechanism(s) responsible, working towards artificial livers eventually becoming a clinical reality.
