Description

Arts DRIVA is an exploration into how arts and cultural processes accelerate innovation and amplify value in creative tech projects.

Arts DRIVA seeks to explore through action research:
> how creative arts and cultural processes accelerate innovation in technology
> how creative innovation releases value from data
> live events and exhibitions as drivers of innovation and inclusive engagement

Arts DRIVA has two elements:

1. Arts DRIVA @ This is a collaboration with Wired Sussex, Brighton Digital Festival and Lighthouse: The collaboration with Wired Sussex supports 13 artist-in-residencies at the Fusebox. The collaboration with BDF and Lighthouse resulted in a co-curated exhibition called Desire Lines with an international programme of artists exploring data in their creative technology projects.

2. DRIVA arts DRIVA (DAD)This is a £1.3m project funded by European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and Arts Council England (ACE) through the Creative Local Growth Fund.
The objective of the project is to provide creative, digital & IT (CDIT) SMEs, creative practitioners and cultural organisations across the Coast to Capital (C2C) region access to a creative innovation support programme and access to Gatwick Airport’s big data.

This is to accelerate innovative Next Gen products, services and experiences for the open market that release value from data through creative/ tech collaboration or partnership.

Arts DRIVA supports the events programme and co-funds the Superfused Awards.
