Victor Ediagbonya joined the School of Business and Law at the University of Brighton in August 2022 as a Lecturer in Law and in September 2023, he was promoted to Senior Lecturer in Law. Prior to joining the University of Brighton, Victor was a Lecturer in Law at the University of Essex Law School, where he taught various modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Victor is a leading expert in Fintech and Financial Inclusion, Comparative Corporate Governance, Banking and Financial Regulation, and Business and Human Rights. He holds an LLB, an LLM, and a PhD from Birkbeck, University of London, BPP University, and the University of Essex, respectively. He is a Barrister in England and Wales, and also Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

Victor's primary research interests are in comparative corporate governance, corporate social responsibility, financial regulation, fintech and financial inclusion with a particular focus on stakeholders and banking regulation in developing and emerging markets.

Victor has published several articles in reputable peer-reviewed journals, written chapters in edited book collections, and presented papers to varied conference audiences on issues centred on his research areas. 

Victor is keen to supervise potential PhD students interested researching corporate governance, CSR, ESG, corporate law/commercial law, consumer protection, business and human rights, fintech, financial inclusion, artificial intelligence on financial systems, financial law and regulation.
