Scholarly biography

Tracy is a Senior Lecturer on the pre registration MSc OT course where she has worked since 2001. She has had 10 years experience as the practice placement tutor where she developed diverse practice placements for students on both the MSc and BSc preregistration programmes. She continues to lead and develop the diverse settings academic module. Her background and specialist areas of interest and research are in later life studies and dementia. She is also the MSc therapeutic cooking skills tutor where she works with students to develop their skills in person centered care and activity analysis.  

In addition Tracy is the lead on the Dementia, Frailty and Wellbeing in Later Life post graduate module. 

Tracy’s clinical experience in health, social care and private practice has primarily been in the community setting working with people in later life together with their carers. She is also a trained family therapist which stemmed from her work with clients with dementia 

 

Research interests

Currently Tracy is a core faculty member of the MDTea podcast team and is developing her research in dementia studies
