Personal profile

Research interests

My research focuses on the intersection between migration, wellbeing, and care and assistance. I use an interdisciplinary and mixed-methods approach to understand how people on the move experience and adapt to life in a new country, drawing on both qualitative and quantitative data.

For my PhD, I examined mental health and psychosocial support for undocumented migrants in the Netherlands and refugees in Uganda, investigating how these forms of care could improve wellbeing and foster social connection.

I am currently part of the ESRC-funded project The Role of Digital Technology in the Social Networks and Wellbeing of Unaccompanied Young Refugees, working together with Dr Linda Tip, Prof Linda Morrice, Elaine Ortiz and Prof Ilse Derluyn. The study examines the impact of digital technology on the wellbeing and social lives of unaccompanied children and young people in the UK.
